Monitors body temperature and humidity levels

If we took a closer look at the molecular structure of a wool fibre, we would discover a very complex structure able to absorb more moisture vapour than any other fibre. Also, the great amount of space, or air, that naturally separates the wool fibres between them provides greater insulation.

Wool, on the other hand, offers you a natural way to harmonize your body temperature, which leads to deeper and uninterrupted sleep. When two individuals share a bed, the wool duvet manages the comfort of both people, even if their body temperature differs.

This natural cooling cannot be obtained with synthetic fibres (such as polyester) as they tend to raise our body temperature. This explains why some people experience interrupted sleep, sometimes without even knowing why.

Non-allergenic and anti-dust mites potential

Dust mites are often the cause of allergies and breathing problems. As dust mites need warm and humid environments to prosper, dust-mites are more likely to be found in synthetic duvets where warm, dark and damp conditions are ideal. As wool is the best fibre in absorbing moisture thanks to its complex molecular properties, dust mites do not tend to survive in wool, as it offers an environment that is too dry for them.

Ecological benefits of wool

Wool fiber is natural, sustainable and biodegradable, all of which are highly valuable properties for our planet. The  environmental advantage provided by these properties is an increasingly popular requirement for textile fiber, but wool has many other inherent benefits, which have earned it a reputation for quality from global manufacturers and consumers.

A unique characteristic of wool is its ability to absorb and release humidity, providing a garment or product that can adapt to different climates and situations.

Anti-static and repels dust

Wool generates very little static electricity. As a conductive material, wool readily gives away its electrons. Consequently, when you rub a balloon on wool, this causes the electrons to move from the wool to the balloon’s surface. This is another attractive advantage of wool, as it tends to naturally repel dust and the mites that come with it.

Wool and Air Quality

Recent studies have shown that wool has the capacity to improve air quality by reducing the levels of pollutants, such as formaldehyde, ozone, nitrogen oxides, sulfur dioxide and toluene. Because of its molecular structure, wool acts as a natural filter and can also reduce the levels of many smells, such as cigarette smoke. Thus the use of wool in home textiles can contribute substantially to improve the ambient air in closed rooms.
